Kodiak Web Design started as a hobby, and became a passion. Kodiak director Leslie Hastings has been designing and implementing web sites since 1998.

In 2000, Leslie took over maintenance of Western Washington University’s Scottish Country Dance Club’s web site. Her interest in Scottish Country Dance began at this time as well, and several of our clients are, or have been, SCD clubs or organisations.

Leslie moved to Scotland in 2001. Already her ancestral home, this is where her husband has always lived, and it was an easy decision for her to settle here.

Who Does What?

Kodiak Web Design started as a design business. We make web pages. We think we make them particularly well, and we make them to the highest W3C standards. A simple, well-designed static web site is still enough for many small businesses, but a lot of you want more.

You want to edit the site yourselves; you want to have a discussion board or forum; you want a logo to put at the top of every page; you want a banner at the top that changes every 18 seconds. And you should have it!

But no one person can do everything. That’s why Kodiak Web Design works with trusted partners to bring you a full spectrum of web services. Some web companies claim to do it all—and one or two of them do; mostly large companies—but in actuality, most of us outsource work that can’t be done in house.

We have a strong network of photographers, graphic designers, SEO experts, database specialists, domain registrars, web hosts, printers and more. Each and every one of them is vetted to ensure that you get the same quality of service as you would from us—in fact, unless you choose to work with them directly, their services will be seamless with our own; you won’t even know they’re there.
